YTO BARRADA - JEU DE PAUME

It is our pleasure to announce you the presentation of the video of Yto Barrada The Botanist at Jeu de Paume Museum in Paris in the exhibition : Inventing the Possible Ephemeral Video Library, curated by Hilde Van Gelder, director of the Lieven Gevaert Centre for Photography, and Marta Ponsa, head of art projects and cultural outreach, Jeu de Paume. The Botanist was filmed in the garden of Mr. Pasti, a writer,expert on Islamic ceramics, and keen amateur botanist, who lives in Milan and Morocco. His garden, in a village on the Atlantic coast south of Tangier, is home to hundreds of varieties of plants native to Morocco, including many rare and endangered species.

POSITIONS - VAN ABBEMUSEUM

Positions is a new exhibition format ( curated by Nick Aikens ) that sets a series of projects in dialogue with one another in the ten galleries of the museum's old building. With each artist presenting a significant body of work, many produced for the exhibition and others developed through collaborations with art organisations throughout the world, Positions explores different tones of contemporary artistic voices. - Bouchra Khalili (1975, Morocco), The Speeches Series, video trilogy, 2012-2013 French-Moroccan artist Bouchra Khalili will present the three-part work The Speeches Series – shown together for the first time in Positions. The Speeches Series is built around three chapters, each comprised of five speeches by migrants that Khalili has collaborated closely with in Paris, Genoa and New York and that focuses respectively on mother tongues and dialects, citizenship, and working class.

Yto Barrada remporte le prix Abraaj 2015

Le prix Abraaj 2015 a été attribué à Yto Barrada. Avec les trois autres artistes finalistes (Sarnath Banerjee, Setareh Shahbazi, Mounira Al Solh) Yto Barrada sera exposée à la foire de Dubai 2015 (18-21 mars 2015).Le commissariat de l’exposition sera assuré par Omar Kholeif, Abraaj Group Art Prize Guest Curator 2015.

Here and Elsewhere - New Museum New York curated by Massimiliano Gioni

Yto Barrada - Bouchra Khalili - Khaled Jarrar - In the past ten years, the work of artists and cultural spaces in cities such as Amman, Beirut, Cairo, Dubai, Doha, Marrakesh, Ramallah, and Sharjah, among others, have established critical points of global access. However, despite a growing international interest in contemporary art from across North Africa and the Middle East, there have been few presentations of art from these regions in New York. “Here and Elsewhere” is the first museum-wide exhibition in New York to bring together more than forty artists from over twelve countries in the Arab world, many of whom live and work internationally.

The members of the SAM Prize for Contemporary Art  comittee 2013  - Jean de Loisy, Jean-Hubert Martin, Sandra Mulliez, Chantal Pontbriand, Jérôme Sans, Laurent Le Bon, Clive Kellner and Alexia Fabre - announce the winner of the SAM Prize for Contemporary Art 2013 : BOUCHRA KHALILI with her project  Foreign Office . Foreign Office is a digital film project, a survey on the utopia of the International Section of the Black Panthers Party in Algiers, founded in 1969 by Eldridge and Kathleen Cleaver, and active until 1972.
